Yogurt Mint Sauce is a simple condiment made with yogurt, garlic, mint, parsley and seasonings. It pairs beautifully with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines.
This quick and easy sauce is light and refreshing. Creamy, garlicy and slightly tangy from the yogurt with freshness from the lemon, mint and parsley. It’s a great alternative to tzatziki sauce and so much easier to make as you don’t have to fuss with grating cucumbers and draining them.
It’s a versatile sauce that can be served with grilled meats, falafels, fresh or roasted vegetables, flatbreads, pita sandwiches and salads. Be sure and try this yogurt mint sauce with my Beef Kofta Kabobs, Greek Chicken Soulvaki or Yogurt Flatbread.

How to make yogurt mint sauce
In a medium bowl combine all the ingredients until smooth and creamy. Transfer the sauce to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 to 2 hours to chill and for the flavours to meld.
What type of yogurt works best for yogurt mint sauce?
I always have plain Greek yogurt on hand and find it’s the perfect rich consistency for this sauce. You could easily replace it with other types of plain yogurt like Balkan style.
How long does yogurt mint sauce keep?
The sauce keeps well refrigerated for 5 days in a glass or plastic container with a tight fitting lid. Be sure and scoop out just the amount you need with a clean utensil so as not to contaminate the remaining contents being stored. The sauce is not recommended for freezing.
Can I make yogurt mint sauce ahead of time?
Yes! It’s best to make the sauce ahead of time, up to 2 hours or the day before, and refrigerate it. That gives time for the flavours to meld.
I hope you’ll love this yogurt mint sauce as much as I do! Let me know if you make it and how you use it.
